fumitani Mar 27, 2006 8:48 pm

Attn OP :-: :-: :-:

Thank you for posting your question. Without it and the response to it, I would not have found out why the coupon question thread was unavailable and not even visually presented with a restriction to someone like myself, a new poster to FT.

;)

You should see it now, access is not granted immediately upon reaching the requirements, it takes up to an hour if I remember correctly.

Your profile says you registered on FT on January 24, 2006. You've got some time to go to reach 90 days.

Coupon Connection??

I'm new to this site but was told there was a link called "coupon connection". I can't find it! Any suggestions or info? please?

cblaisd Apr 1, 2006 11:29 pm

After you've been a contributing poster for awhile, and been a member for awhile, Coupon Connection will appear.

In the meantime, FlyerTalk exists to be a place to share information, wisdom, and perspectives on flying, travel, and "miles and points."

Hope you'll stick around and read a lot and begin to contribute in areas where you no doubt have something to add.

I had the same problem today, but now I know 90 days no issue, but I need to go for 91 posts.

frank3355 Apr 28, 2006 10:55 am

Where can I see a list of how many posts required for restricted forums?

tom911 Apr 28, 2006 12:42 pm

OMNI is the only other one that I'm aware of: 180 days and 180 posts.

unitedPSbusiness May 30, 2006 2:15 am

Just out of curiosity, why do they do the 90 day/90 post thing for the coupon connection? Is there any way I can get to it sooner?

It has been decided that Coupon Connection is a privilege of membership. Randy and the CC Moderators want to ensure that members are contributing members before they gain access to the Coupon Connection. In the past, people have come into Coupon Connection to "harvest" coupons without adding value to Flyertalk.

The beauty is... continue to contribute... and Coupon Connection will appear... :) No other action required.

Something strange

Something is strange however, I cant find the coupon connection even though I passed both the membership time, and post limits quite a long time ago. Do I need to do something to get access?

Best

Best

Did you check under the Community Section of Flyertalk?

Coupon Connection was moved there several months ago.... lots of people "lost" CC when it moved.

Just checked and you have access, probably just need to look where wharvey has directed you... :)

empedocles Jun 6, 2006 5:32 am

Perhaps in some cases people need to clear their cache once they hit the threshhold in order for the new forum(s) to appear?

This could be the case with some people, yes. In most cases it will just show up without having to do this for people though. Thanks,

Well I can see I got a !

Well I can see I have ways to go for my access to coupon connection. To bad it takes 90 posts... I really don't travel much, but I may have some wonderful coupons to offer..

Guess this is another post.. only about 60 more from me.

What's OMNI? Is it related to the hotel or their frequent stayer program?

Not at all. It's a forum for off-topic and non-travel related posts.

OMNI is a vibrant dialogue of perspectives on world events, politics, religion and more. It is fascinating reading and provides quite a bit of humor and entertainment. Respect for other opinions and feelings is required.

I have been a member for long enough, but nowhere near enough posts... boohoo for me . But, I guess we all need something to hope for :p

FlyingRobot Jul 12, 2007 4:38 pm

Wow... I guess I was only three days away.

Mary2e Jul 13, 2007 5:24 am

No, actually you went on a 2 day posting party to make it up to 90 to gain access :D :D

Sometimes, partying too much is a bad thing.... :D

Aparently it wasn't the fact that I realized how useful FT was and actually started using it that was a bad thing. It was that I went on a cruise this weekend and stopped posting. Oh well, maybe I will get back to 90 again some day (unless I go out of town and get punished again). :(

the counter doesn't reset just because you don't post for a few days
