City pairs uncaps
 

wasn't sure what kind of titline to try and express what I've noticed for a while, which is in a thread subject line why does it sometimes wind up in lower case rather than caps? I entered a MR in the MR forum, oddly enough, with the valid city pairs all in caps as usual and when I redisplayed the page, they had automatically been downsized. I thought it was just me, so hit the edit button and corrected the problem but it still wouldn't take all caps. Anyone else noticed the same thing or is this just a foible of this FT network system we have to live with?

Same as with posts, cant have a title all in caps. I'm not sure whether this is a setting that can be turned off.

Well, it was more like:

HNL-YVR/YYC/YEG/YYZ/YOW USD$82.00++ RT

Do you mean if I'd have put the rt in lower case it would've been okay and not uncapped the whole title line?

Just tried editing the thread title in MR forum and it worked when I changed some of it to lower case. Thanks for the tip Kiwi! :)

It is indeed a setting that can be changed. It's called "prevent shouting". It kicks in whenever it sees something that looks like it's been typed with the caps lock stuck on. IIRC, there are separate settings for preventing shouting in posts and thread titles.

Yes, this is a setting that we have turned on that prevents yelling (all caps in a title). At this point we don't plan on turning it off, might be worth suggesting in the suggestions forum or to the TalkBoard for those that feel strongly about it though. Thanks,
