Username not being saved
My PC here at work just got upgraded to XP yesterday. whenever I'm clicking around FT, I constantly have to keep logging in my username and password (and I have played w/ and w/o checking the "Remember Me?" box). This is mostly happening going between the airline fora and to My FT, and then to Omni. Continuous logins. Highly annoying.
This is the only place that isn't remembering me. Any help? Thanks in advance. |
Chex, it looks like your browser is not setup to accept cookies. Are you using IE? If so, select Tools>Internet Options>Privacy. There's a slider for "cookies". Ratchet down until it allows FT's cookies to be saved (mine is set to "allow all cookies").

Thanks SKO! I had already fiddled with that. But I followed your cue and dropped it down to "Accept ALL" and then relaunched IE (v 6.0.2900.2180), still no dice.
It's weird- I'm not having problems w/ any other websites and their cookies. :( It goes to the login prompt whenever I click on My FT or OMNI from the main title bar. If I click OMNI from the main forum list, it's ok. Am I S-O-L? |

Thanks for your help Sean.
Still, unfortunately, no dice. Should there be a webflyer or insideflyer or flyertalk cookie? When I logged in, only cookies for atdmt, doubleclick, linksynergy, tribalfusion, and mediaplex were created. |
and it still says:
Welcome, chexfan. You last visited: Today at 12:09 pm It's reading that from somewhere, right? Weird. |
oops........
|
Thanks Scott.
That didn't do it either... |
Scott should tell you to log yourself out, not log him out. ;)

FWIW, I recently changed my password on Flyertalk and have been experiencing the same problems as chexfan. Cookies are all okay, running FireFox and have tried a bunch of things, but still having to log-in for every session.

Any work around? |
Figured it out, but...
OK, I figured out what's up.
It isn't a Firefox or IE issue. I am only having the logging-in problem when I am hitting MyFT via http://64.78.185.85/forum/usercp.php? I am not having the problem when I hit http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/usercp.php Now, I know you're gonna say, "Well why don't you just use the flyertalk.com domain?" The only way I can access FT at work is through the IP b/c the FT url is blocked. Any suggestions w/ this info? |
