problem with "View first unread"
Recently I've noticed a problem with the "view first unread" function. When I open a long, older topic and click on the "view first unread" function, it takes me to the newest post -- not necessailry the first unread.
For example, say a particular thread is one month old and I've already read the first three weeks of posts. Since my last login, say one week ago, there have been several posts (over the last week). The "view first unread" function now takes me to the most recent post (for example, today's post) instead of to the first unread post of one week ago. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks. |
I'm not as observant as you to realize its an older or newer thread, but I know that I find myself scrolling up a lot of times to see if there were other posts I missed since the last time I looked at the thread (and frequently find some). This applies to posts that show up on My Flyertalk as being changed since the logon as well as other posts I'm reading from a forum.

It's been mentioned on the vB site, but I couldn't find a resolution for it, as it seems to affect different users in different ways.
A couple things that they mentioned to their users: - Make sure that you allow the page to load fully before clicking the View First Unread link. - Try clearing out your browser's cache, in case there's something corrupted in there. You mentioned "Recently...". Is this something that just started happening to you? |

"recently"

Yes, it has just started "recently" for me -- I'd say in the last week or two. I'm on a Mac most of the time and I thought that could be a factor, but I notice it today also and this is not a Mac. Thanks again! |
