Pop-Ups and IE

Hi,

Since my office installed SP2 on my computer, I have had continual problems with FT on IE. I do have some popup blockers running (Google Toolbar and Ad-Aware), but this problem persists even when I disable them. When I load an FT page, I get a loud pop (presumably indicating some sort of pop-up or something else), a gray box indicating that the page has a script that cannot be run, and a tiny 404 Not Found box in the lower right hand corner. The gray box asks if I want to continue running the script even if it doesn't work. I click yes and then close the tiny window. I can then access the page. I do NOT have this problem with either Netscape or Mozilla Firefox. Does anyone have any idea why FT is creating this problem (no other web site causes these issues)--what script is being run and how to get around it? Thanks.

I'm not aware of any 404 errors from the ads our site is running, but it's possible a campaign was launched that had a bad page on it at first.

Not just a one time event

It's not just a one-time event. It has been happening every day for about 10 days --every time I try to open up a new page (or to click on "My FlyerTalk").

Make sure your computer is set to accept cookies, etc. from TribalFusion and Avenue A, as well as FlyerTalk

If you're getting a popup everytime you click an FT link, that seems to indicate that a cookie isn't being set properly on your machine.

It could be that those ads are serving a type of media that your browser doesn't have a plugin for, although from the ads I've seen, there's nothing very high tech going on, other than the occasional Flash ad.

SP2 includes a pop-up blocker integrated into IE. The "pop" sound you describe sounds like the new IE sound when a pop-up is blocked. I get the pop sound but none of the other symptoms you describe. Instead there's a new blocker toolbar (just below the address bar) that opens when a popup is blocked to inform me that it's working.

Do you get any context menus regarding pop-up blocker settings when you mouseover or right-click the indication in the lower right corner that you're describing? I

SP2 pop-up blocker is turned off (I did this when I thought it might interfere with the Ad-Aware blocker) and no context menus.
