FT Website Question

You guys post way too much for me to read in one sitting, especially at the office! So I come back several times to read the new threads or new posts in current threads, all colored bolded dark blue. Now, after I come back the second time, every thread looks the same, nonbolded regular blue, even though I KNOW I haven't read all the new posts. What can I do. I don't want to miss new posts, and I cannot read every thread start to finish to catch new posts.

Help!

Moving Thread

Gretchyn...

The short answer (I believe) is that "unread messages" are just those messages that were posted since the last time you came to FlyerTalk. It doesn't necessarily mean that you have read them.

For a longer answer...I will move this thread to the Technical Issues forum where it belongs.

Hope that helps a bit :)

Yes, the cookie that's set when you visit the site, click on a page, etc., is what determines the "last viewed" status of a thread.

Personally, I open each new thread in a new window, rather than opening them in the same window. That way, I keep the original list of new threads separate (and not reloading, which may cause them to be considered as "read").

just curious why this got moved to USAir of all places? Is this where all off topic threads go? ;)

This topic was originally posted in the US Airways forum. It was moved to 'technical issues' which is its appropriate home.

The reason for the "moved" link on the US forum was to allow the OP to easily navigate back to it as they are relatively new to FT.

Hope that clears up the confusion,
