Something wrong with one of the servers?

www.flyertalk.com which for me resolves to web1.flyertalk.com as basicly been non-operative for me all day, only intermitantly at best does it work. If I use web2.flyertalk.com then it works for me.

If those are seperate machines then web1 seems to be sick, if they are the different names for the same machine then your DNS entry seems to have a problem.

(Feel free to PM me with technical questions if you have any that will be of help)

Me too.

I'm having the same sort of issue. When it acts up I can generally read the first post but then the pages go off into neverland trying to read subsequent posts. Maybe it's cleared up for now, though.

There was an issue with web1 on Friday which we resolved -- I'm not sure what you would be seeing on Sunday -- unless it was a DNS issue.

At this time -- Monday morning everything seems to be working well.

their appears to be some generic Comcast problem in the northeast and that may be causing the problem, if we knew if pdhenry had Comcast service that might help with knowing where they cause of the problem was.

I'm not on Comcast, although my cable ISP might wholesale from them for all I know. I'm more or less in the Northeast (south-central PA, a couple of hours west of Philly).

Slooooowwww again?

Seems FT has been slow for last couple of hours (almost jerky--long wait and then things pop in). Other sites seem to be fast but not FT right now.

It seems to be an issue with the ad servers.

Here's an idea...

Perhaps FT should turn off the ads until the problem is cleared up? :)

Either way I won't be reading ads, if you catch my drift. Too painful to wait 90 seconds to 2 minutes for a page load. So instead I'll just go away.

Do you have any idea when this will be fixed? This is too painfully slow. :(

John at Webflyer Jun 28, 2004 10:49 am

According to TribalFusion they resolved the problem late Friday.

It was a DDOS attack -- unfortunately there is not a lot that we can do about that sort of problem except wait for them to resolve it when it occurs.
