Non speed issues: html, smilies, e-mails
 

aside from the speed thing, three minor odd things are happening to me.

First I can't turn off these stupid smilies. Although there is a setting somewhere to turn them off, it doesn't hold.

Second, somehow html has turned itself off and whenever I get a post that picks up part of an earlier post, instead of seeing that earlier post formatted in html, I'm seeing the words, but then the html formatting coding instead.

I can't figure out a way to turn back on html.

Finally, I seem to be automatically having subscribed to e-mails of any response to my posting, though I don't want them and have chosen "do not subscribe"
