Randy, John, Mike & others - you have my sympathy for the grief you're getting from some of the folk on this thread; my appreciation for all the hard work you're doing & giving up your spring break; and my admiration that you're still willing to do it. There are a # of us who do realize when stuff changes it doesn't always go smoothly (boy, that applies to everything doesn't it - not just VBs!).
Speaking for myself, I love the new FT & it has a lot of great features (including some that are much easier than the old FT). I look forward to getting to know all the nuances even more in the future. For those who don't like it, odds are they're not going back to the old version & if you're really really that unhappy about it, I'm sure there are other boards you can visit. Again, many thanks guys for all the hard work. Cheers. |

Yes, slow, slow, slow, even with DSL. I don't know what the codings, little pictures, are to the left of the threads and messages, don't find them explained anywhere, did search the FAQ's. I see some of them as options below - do I have to remember all those? I'd like to have words display when I moved the cursor over them, I guess. There are a number of others. Or at the very least, could someone please tell me what the heck are reputation points?! It says I have 10 - is that good/bad/what? Should I hide this icon in shame or is it that I really haven't pissed off that many people afterall? Thanks in advance. I LOOOVED the old FlyerTalk and went thru serious withdrawals while it was down - and I want to learn this new FlyerTalk so I can love it too! |

It's more than just a speed problem. The new board is way too complicated- we shouldn't need an instruction manual to understand reading and posting messages! All the little icons, ratings, etc. is just too distracting from the text of the posts. It looks like it's designed for children.
