Yes me too. Even with the FT page open. If I go and make a cup of coffee I get the confirm box popping up again when I come back and refresh it.

mlin32 Apr 8, 2026 6:32 am

At this point I'm more annoyed that Cloudflare isn't doing anything to resolve the issue. :td:

Cloudflare is doing what it's probably configured to so by Internet Brands - it seems that they have probably cracked the config up to max due to a recent botnet attack and that max config is still in place. IBJoel did make a brief comment a week or so back but is probably prevented from saying much more without possibly compromising operational details.

I've personally not seen a Cloudflare intercept for several weeks now (UK domestic broadband IP or VPN back to my home if out and about, using Chrome or Edge) but I am seeing periodic database errors which might infer some ongoing malicious activity in the forum as recent as yesterday.

mlin32 Apr 8, 2026 7:29 am

That's interesting because for me and a lot of us based on the responses, things aren't getting better at all. If anything, they're getting worse sometimes- I have to literally reboot my laptop before I can re-access with Firefox sometimes.

Deckter Apr 8, 2026 8:24 am

Same issue as above users, both on Brave and Chrome, mobile, home network, public wifi, doesn't matter. Extremely annoying.

For me it is not only the inactivity of 10 min which triggers the cloudfare pop up.
I can also read a trip report and like the posts and after 10 min I get an error message. In order to reset I need to reload the page and then I must again confirm the box...
I would also appreciate a fast solution for this problem.

Same for me on phone Samsung A25 with latest updates. Nil access. Endless cloudflare loop. On phone use to view only. Have never logged in via phone.
Laptop does get access after 1st cloudflare page. If go to another page 50% of the time get cloudflare again.
Is past annoying.

SPN Lifer Apr 8, 2026 7:38 pm

I like to check FlyerTalk for a minute or two many times a day when I need a break from work. The current situation makes that impossible.

notquiteaff Apr 9, 2026 1:05 am

Not sure if it’s related but this problem started at about the same time for me: I am no longer able upload images from my Mac (Firefox). It still works fine on Safari on my iPad. Both devices see the Cloudflare popup.

airoli Apr 10, 2026 1:37 am

Also very annoyed by the Cloudflare verifications multiple times a day when trying to access the site. Happens irrespective of browser (Firefox / Edge) or location (ZRH, YUL) on my laptop(s). Tedious barrier to continued engagement with the site.

Residential IPs are currently launching DDOS attacks thru so called residential proxy networks from malware in 'smart home' devices. Information sites like FT seem to be a major target for some reason.

Then why am I getting blocked when using 5G mobile data?

There's overemphasis in the posting byoliver2002 regarding bad traffic coming from residential networks. The WSJ article itself describes how bad actors are getting malware onto mobile devices. It would be better described as end user networks rather than residential. In fact you might as well just say it's all networks. The amount of bad traffic out there these days is significant and the geopolitical situation is adding fuel to the fire.

My point was in response to another member saying s/he is using a residential IP which implied that those are innocent in general. ;)

LondonAussie Apr 10, 2026 3:15 pm

Ok but why do I need to continually verify from the same device and same connection?

... especially when you are logged in and a long standing member.

it's getting weirder and weirder - on the iPhone - cloudflare thinks around 10 seconds - then says "authenticated - redirecting to flyertalk.com" - then the cloudflare page reloads thinks again for 10
seconds and then requests to tick the "I am a human" checkbox.

CPH-Flyer Apr 10, 2026 6:12 pm

I am now running on a flow where I get an initial tick box to verify if I have not been active for around 30 minutes, but then no further authentication until I have been inactive again for a while.

SPN Lifer Apr 11, 2026 5:09 am

Sung to the tune of Oklahoma:

Oh, BOHICA,
With the Cloudflare sweepin’ down the plain
And here they know,
To let one go,
Oh, Bend Over, Here It Comes Again!

Skyman65 Apr 11, 2026 10:29 pm

I have to check the box about every 10 minutes. So annoying, and degrades the user experience. Posting from my home network in Taiwan. VPN not turned on.

hellolaurent Apr 12, 2026 2:38 am

Ironically, I've been having less issues using NordVPN the past 2 days, which normally triggers this sort of verification due to massive use of the same IP address on multiple other websites

Yes, that's my solution. VPN to the UK and the constant annoying reverification prompts will disappear. Show how pointless the Cloudflare exercise really is IMHO.

IBJoel Apr 14, 2026 8:45 am

I got our network team to at least throttle it back to the point where you don't have to manually confirm your humanity. The bot attack is still ongoing, however.

spellofiron Apr 14, 2026 10:28 am

Thank you!
I noticed today that I do not need to check the box and it is much better.

Me too. :tu:

Buster Apr 14, 2026 11:34 pm

I’m still having to check the box. And half the time the box doesn’t even appear, so Cloudflare just spins and spins. The only solution is to use a different browser every time so that it forces the box to appear. I am just not coming to FT as much anymore because this is an annoying deterrent.

oliver2002 Apr 16, 2026 8:08 am

The latest annoyance is that the system cans your response/post if you use quick reply.

Does the auto-save function not work when this happens?

Happens to me sometimes too. No, auto save doesn't work.

Skyman65 Apr 18, 2026 3:56 am

Apparently, we're back to requiring a manual check? [le sigh]

f0zzyNUE Apr 18, 2026 4:01 am

Made a long post today - when I clicked on "Post Reply" I was redirected back to the cloudflare page. after that my post was gone. I could not retreive it with browser-back. That's really .......
I can understand that the page must be protected against bot attacks - BUT other pages do it much better - AND when I am logged in as long standing member with almost 6000 posts I should not bee required to proove every 10 minutes that I am a human with content going to the trash when posting.

I couldn't agree more. While I haven't gotten the "prove you're not a b:(t" popup much of late, it has happened and I have lost replies in the exact manner described here. It is SUPER frustrating.

henrus Apr 19, 2026 5:22 am

It's been so aggressive the cloudflare requests to confirm not a bot. Mobile or laptop both on fixed internet or mobile it's becoming a joke.

Skyman65 Apr 19, 2026 11:07 am

Now I can ONLY access FT if I turn on VPN. Without it, I just get the Cloudflare verification screen in an endless loop that never lets me in. Getting old fast.

Yahillwe Apr 19, 2026 12:38 pm

Same here, I should just use a VPN. It has become very frustrating.

percysmith Apr 19, 2026 7:50 pm

HK not getting thru even after clicking check box - wifi or mobile.

brunos Apr 19, 2026 8:16 pm

I am getting through from HK today.
But since the change some countries cannot see images attached to a post, while a few others do.

I'm amused by this because I find whenever I use a public VPN I get bl:mad:cked by Cloudflare. That's frustrating too.

Your membership here has no bearing on Cloudflare. It's a traffic protection service. I know how you feel; I lost four hours of work the other week when a page decided to crash out of nowhere and I didn't manually save.

Cloudflare is the fix to keep the site working at all.

I do believe however that Cloudflare has a way to relax the level of security checks etc. based on whether a user is logged in or not, perhaps a question for tech to look into?
