FlyerTalk pages do not look correct right now on multiple devices.

There are some slight errors at the moment tied to Dark Mode formatting and I'll ask for them to be fixed

It appears to be working now but does now look a bit different. Still, features appear to be working.

I was going to ask about this too, but was having trouble finding the "Post" button. Everything looks ok now, but the stylesheets were returning an HTTP 404, so the page was white and all the text was left-aligned.

I;m still seeing random gray boxes in places, like the one by the breadcrumbs in the screenshot below.

I was away from FT for a couple weeks, I come back and it appears that Travel & Dining has been scrambled, with the fora in a different order, which is seriously messing up my reading habits. Is this change deliberate and permanent?

Yes, the "Special Interest Travel" category has been dissolved and its forums were integrated into the greater Travel & Dining section. I'm still getting used to it.

Why?

Drop the "Special Interest Travel" designation if they must, but for long-timers it just is annoying to have the order of the fora rearranged and makes it harder to find the forum you want. It doesn't enhance any aspect of FT.

Sorry, I'm just aware that this was done. I have no idea what were the reasons for the change.

The logical reason is to give more exposure to those forums rather than have them "hidden" under the "Special Interest" designation.

I agree that the current arrangement seems a bit haphazard.

This is correct. Generally I tried to arrange them most active -> least. I made some adjustments to weight existing frontpage forums and which forums I feel have a lot of potential to grow.

"Hidden" - hardly the word I'd use. All it took was a tiny bit of scrolling, not even an extra click. This forum is the one that is best hidden on all of FT.

Now there is no apparent logic to where things are found.

How does Disability Travel, 8.2k posts, rate above Practical Travel Safety and Security Issues, 369.9k posts? Budget Travel seems like a forum with a lot of growth potential, but it's second from the bottom? I can't be the only FT'er who is very frustrated with the scrambled main page in Travel & Dining.

The format of the pages has completely changed when I use Chrome. It looks like something a 6-year-old would design. I get the traditional look when using Edge. I get the traditional theme with Firefox. This new format is almost unusable.

If you're on a smartphone but still want the full desktop view, you may also need to toggle that setting in your browser (in Chrome on Android, 3 dots menu > Desktop site [ ] checkbox)

Is there any way to get the mobile back after switching to desktop? I switched to desktop mode while on Chrome on my iphone and cannot switch back,. The weird thing is that the desktop version is ONLY on the Air Canada/Aeroplan forum where I was when I tried it and all the others remain in mobile theme. Thanks!

If all else fails you can try adding ?styleid=22 to the URL in the location bar.

I gave the new arrangement a month, to see how it worked for me.

End conclusion: it has made FT less accessible, and a lot less fun. Travel & Dining is now one long, illogical list with no color or graphical differentiation between categories - back when I was training in webpage design, that was regarded as a cardinal sin. We were taught to make it easy for users to quickly find what they want, not force them to read/scroll through lists of identical colored text in the same font with no quick visual cues as to content.
