Error 1005 access denied
Just came back from a week holiday and wanted to see new posts from last week. Unfortunately I get an error message generated by Cloudfare: "The owner of this website (FlyerTalk - The world's most popular frequent flyer community - FlyerTalk is a living, growing community where frequent travelers around the world come to exchange knowledge and experiences about everything miles and points related.) has banned the autonomous system number (ASN) your IP address is in (5617) from accessing this website."
This is my home address with a public IP. No idea why it should be blocked. Using VPN I was able to write this post. |
Same issue, I’m based in Poland and my ISP is Orange. Cloud flare ray ID: 7abd6ab539bb34b0
Works fine with VPN/iOS IP obfuscation, but the forum in inaccessible to regular users.k |
Yep, the ASN 5617 shared by the OP in their original message is Orange Polska, which for the benefit of IBJoel is a common ISP in Poland. It would be a bit like blacklisting AT&T in the US, as I understand it Orange Polska they are the effective inheritor of the former monopoly telecoms operator in Poland.
Whilst either IB or Cloudflare have obviously seen some nefarious activity from the Orange Polska network this one might require a review. |

Exactly the same here and I'm on Orange Polska too.
VPN or 4G is the only way to access FT. Started happening mid way through this week. |
I’m not sure how to bring more attention to this issue, but I’d like to make sure everyone is aware that Orange isn’t some obscure local ISP. It’s the “default” one in a country of 40 million people.https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...ab77c7f07.jpeg

I've asked the network team about unblocking
|
Seems to working OK now after a short cloudfare check, the site loads.

I get it if I try to connect from a new browser instance, but if I only connect to the VPN after connecting to FT I am fine.
But a new browser instance I get: Ideas why?I got an error when visiting flyertalk.com/. Error code: 1020 Ray ID: 7b74eeac1a290a16 Country: US Data center: mia04 IP: 212.102.61.137 Timestamp: 2023-04-13 16:02:15 UTC https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...6815a4473e.jpg |
Update. Still happening even though I’ve whitelisted flyertalk.com.
Any input from IB? |
Whitelisting Orange is far above my paygrade. I don't have a say in that decision. If you have a single IP you're accessing from (such as your home), I can get that whitelisted on our end. Please note that this will ONLY whitelist that specific IP. To do that, I'll need you IP and RayID you got from the error.
pbiflyer is that a reliable IP you'd like whitelisted? |
Sorry IBJoel I was saying I was still getting the error even though I have whitelisted FT on my VPN, so I was getting the error even though I bypassed the VPN accessing FT. Wouldn't expect you guys to whitelist for me.
But seems to be working today. Thanks! |
