How do I turn off infinite scroll?

It’s one of the reasons I barely use FT nowadays,
which is a shame.

Is there a way to turn off Infinite Scroll? Especially on phone, I find the page jumping around. Having to go back and forth to find things when the page jumps.

Disable it in your options and then switch to the full site on your mobile device. Mobile skin does not allow you to disable infinite scroll

I don’t see any menu or setting called OPTIONS.

I’ll just use the button for last page once I can get it to work on my iPhone. Have to tap in the address bar first in Microsoft Edge.

what you mean there is NO way to turn this damn thing off?

You can opt to view the the desktop version on your mobile device.

Just check the "Never go to Mobile Skin" box under "Miscellaneous Options."

I know, it's not ideal, but it works.

Am I tripping? I see no option to force desktop view on mobile when I go to the settings link above.

For the love of everything holy FT admins, make non-auto-scrolling natively available on mobile.

Click the 3 lines in the top right of the screen. Then select "View Full Site"

That’s not an answer, sorry. I don’t want to see a desktop site on a 6.7” iPhone screen. And I’ve tried.

Was I quoting you or was I quoting someone who specifically asked about accessing desktop on mobile?

I am giving feedback as a user of this forum that using desktop mode on a cell phone is not practical.

I know this is a constant question but... I still can't turn off infinite scroll. The "thread display options" in my options only displays "linear oldest to newest" or "linear newest to oldest". I have tried searching and infinite scroll is making it impossible to find the answer... I'm on desktop and can't get it to work there either.

Same here. On desktop and I follow all the instructions but nothing about infinite scroll in my display options! Site is near unreadable right now.

I’m on my Ipad Air 5, using Safari and 17.5.1. Can’t view new posts, basically unusable. If I switch to Chrome, it’s mostly usable. I’ve turned off the infinite scroll in Chrome, but it doesn’t change anything in my Safari browser.

This issue just popped up in the last day.

What is the site behavior that is preventing you from viewing posts?
To disable Infinite Scroll, first enable "View Full Site" (access this by clicking on the 3 lines in the top left)
Then go here: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/prof...do=editoptions
Go down to "Disable Infinite Scroll", click "Save" at the bottom

I go to that link and I see other options but there is nothing about infinite scroll.

I only use desktop. It's driving me crazy not being able to turn it off.

Are you sure you’re in desktop mode on your Safari browser? On my iPad, I’ve always been using Desktop Mode with infinite scroll disabled since infinite scroll is a horrendously laggy, glitchy, RAM-eating abomination of a feature with clumsy navigation. Every so often, including just recently, my iPad switches back to the mobile version of the site, and I need to use Safari’s controls (the aA icon in the URL bar) to “Request Desktop Website”. Sometimes Safari thinks it’s already in that mode, in which case I have to “Request Mobile Website”, then go back and “Request Desktop Website” to refresh it. I used to use FT’s menu options to request the full site, but as far as I can see that option is now gone.

Didn’t work for me. I’m stuck in the mobile version, with no “new posts” to click on like I normally do.
