using Chrome on Dell laptop, no popup blocker beyond what company firewall has in place ... the "Page Unresponsive; you can wait for the pages to become responsive or exit the page" popup has been appearing about every minute or two, regardless of which FT page I'm on; the grey popup box at lower left frequently says "Resolving host" or "Establishing secure connection" or "Waiting for bidder.criteo.com" or "Waiting for pagead2.googlesyndication.com" or similar

I fully understand that the ads are FT's revenue source, but this recurring not-particularly-friendly mechanization is driving me to spend more time on my iPhone version with the popup blocker

Do you have infinite scroll enabled?

no, classic desktop, 40 threads/page

company pushed a Windows update yesterday (4-hour deadline for a mandatory restart, else automatic) ...also had to manually restart a couple hours after the push in order to get Zoom to cooperate, but so far haven't seen a recurrence of this issue
