new emoji codes affect old posts as well
First this is totally unimportant in the grand scheme of things, so not looking to make a huge deal out of this :)
But I noticed recently that some of the codes have changed, e.g. ^ used to insert a thumbs-up but now you have to say : tu : (without the spaces). And in a few places I've seen people (including myself) use ^ in a post and figure it was just muscle memory for the old code and forgetting that the new one applied. But I was doing a search and see a post from e.g. 2017 where a ^ which would previously have been a :tu: now just shows the ^. Ideally the change would've been done in such a way as not to affect how older posts were rendered... |
^
Interesting... I'll ask tech if there's a way we can fix that. Thanks for the head's (and thumbs) up! EDIT: Can you link me to that post from 2017 if you still have it? |

Same here. I made a tech ticket for this to see if there's anything that can be done.
