More 'missing' pictures - my Trip Reports.
 

Would appreciate a bit of Tech advice here, as I'm having an issue with pictures embedded in my TRs (links in my signature). Some are fine, others have 'lost' their images, and some are partially missing!

I also get different results, depending on the device I use ... the latest TR (PHX18) has partial imagery on my iPad, but none on my Mac 28".

The images themselves are stored on imgur, the links in my signature are abbreviated using bitly ... although it doesn't matter which route I take to the TR, the outcome is the same. It all worked fine until a few days ago, although I have seen occurrences in the past ... which I fixed by reloading all the images again [TEDIOUS!].

All horribly random ... can anyone 'technical' suggest what may be going wrong?

Can you provide a link or two to the Trip reports in question? That might allow Admin / Te h to find the affected reports easily. TIA.

I worked with tech on this and it turns out it's on Imgur. They've implemented some kind of rate-limiting. Our system is trying to display the images, but their site is preventing that. It could be tied to the recent update it looks like they did.

Oh, damn! So I need to migtrate everything photographic to another source, having already migrated from Photobucket?

That seemingly ends my TR activity, unless I can find a better host.

You no longer need to host 3rd party -- just post here directly from any device. Use the "photo" icon:

Oh, thanks .. I'll explore that option. I had used "My Photo Album" on FT is the past, but I know I'd filled it with the permitted 100 photos and never thought any more about using in-house resources! Time to go and play!! ^

Just another 11 TR repair jobs to do!! Pleased I have a systematic filing system for my TRs, including the associated images! :)

The super easy way to add photos has only been on FT for a few months, so don't feel bad! We did announce it globally... but who reads these days ;)

That's the 12 'signature' TRs finally repaired. :)

Curious mixture of 'placeholder' appearances, including some [but not all] from my own "Pictures and Albums" here on FT. Very strange!

I hope that all sticks this time :D
