But maybe you are on mobile device and using the desktop skin, then you are out of luck. The desktop design is meant for desktop devices and just doesn't work very well on mobile. Try the mobile skin.

However, it is a solution that worked excellently for me and spending the two seconds it took was one of my best investments.
Now I just come here to enjoy all the hyperbole

Actually, although it's a small point, the underlining of links also does not currently appear when you preview a post which you are about to make. This makes it harder to check whether you have got the links correct before making the post, and increases the chances that you have to edit it further later.

OK, looks like that's happening, although in the edit window it's underlined. I'll let tech know, but it's going to get prioritized lower than some other stuff here.

I'm surprised it took so long for someone to say this (maybe I missed it earlier in the thread)
I think it's entirely valid to point out that we don't pay for this.
At the same time, depending how long something has been on FT etc there is a sense of community, people may feel different levels of attachment and so on, such that there is frictional cost you leaving and finding another similar environment. So I think it's also valid for people to be annoyed.
Plus, viewed another way, if the whole Web 2.0 thing means the users are the product, being sold to advertisers, then it behooves FT to keep its livestock happy...

Personally, I'd feel happier if I could go to the first unread post. Clicking the icon on a forum page only works randomly and sometimes removes the option at the top of the thread pages to go to the first unread post in the thread. Moreover, within a thread, there's no way to see which posts have been marked as read, so that for short or relatively inactive threads, the simple workaround of going to the last post in the thread and then scrolling back on the page until the last post marked as read appears non longer works.

We would like to remind everyone that civility is expected in all postings. Abusive aspersions cast against IB staff or anyone will not be tolerated. We recognize that feelings are running high on the part of some about this change; the most appropriate way to communicate those is to civilly describe the issues. As has long been said, "Discuss the post, not the poster."
Thank you.

I mostly like the new design except for the two issues I mentioned upthread. At least this is less buggy than the last major "enhancement"

The new forum is really limiting what fits in code blocks, both for width with the larger font size, and for length.
...
edit: longer tables get a bigger preview window than short tables now, they used to all get the same scrollbar-free length before the scrollbar was thrown at them

Even more frustrating, post preview shows the blocks without scrollbars (screenshot at end of this post).
An edited demonstration with increasing block lengths:-

Maybe I'll pass that on to my UX team - how the site looks isn't a big deal, focus on the other stuff.
