I too am against the removal of an easy way to get to the first unread post in a thread.
It logically does not make sense to me to jump to the first post or last post instead.
Maybe they can add a link to jump to the first unread post?

This change was deliberate -- now you can tap the thread title to go to the first post, or tap the "Last Post" arrow underneath the thread title and go to the most recent post. I realize that's not exactly "go to first unread" but our data shows that this is closer to what most forum users wanted out of mobile browsing.

*tries to quote florens, fails*
Not just smilies but all of the control buttons (bold, quote link, etc) are disabled. Looks like they're also following the Microsoft model of chucking the product over the wall without testing.

And when I go to edit my own post, I get a blank space. But the smilies, etc work if I start with a fresh "new post"; they're only broken if I try to quote someone.

I've reported this bug.
"Swipe" back/left? Not sure what you mean...?
Hmm. Seems like they are working for most people (including me).
If the quote and formatting/smilie buttons are not working for you, please clear browser cache and try again.
If still not working, let me know what device and browser you're using. Working for me on Chrome and Safari.

Android LG G3 default "Internet" browser.
And still request restoration of "last unread" functionality.

Ah, thanks -- didn't occur to me to try that! A menu item would still be nice though, for those for whom this is not intuitive.
Sorry, that's patently ridiculous. You have data showing that users reading threads that they've previously already visited want to start from post #1 , every single time they return to the thread? This doesn't pass the smell test. Perhaps I misunderstood what you meant?

I can't see how to land in a thread to pick up where I'd previously read to. I can enter at the beginning or end, each are which are useless for a 700 day old thread that I've not looked at for a while and have no idea whether 1 or 20 posts have landed in the previous 8 hours.
