Links in email notification not working (Yahoo)
For the past day or so, the links in the FT notification emails do not work.
They are not clickable. This is in Yahoo mail. As a test, I forwarded a message with a link to my Gmail account and the link is clickable. Just not in Yahoo. And before someone suggests that it is a setting issue within Yahoo, ALL other emails with links work within Yahoo, just not the ones from FT. I even went back and check emails from a few weeks to a few months old and the links in those old FT emails work just fine. It is only the emails from the past couple of days that the hyperlinks aren't activated. Must be something on the FT side. |
PM sent.

I am having the same issue - started last week suddenly, links are no longer clickable.

Same issue here. Using Mozilla Thunderbird.
The problem seems to be that the emails are now sent both in text as well as HTML format (multi-part MIME). The HTML version does not contain any hyperlinks (<a href="http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/technical-support-feedback/technical-support-feedback/...">), but only the URL. As the email is formatted as HTML and not plain text, email clients do not automatically make the URL clickable (which they do in plain text emails). You administrators need to either remove the HTML version again, or make sure that hyperlink tags are included. |
I've replied to IBJoel's PM, but in case it is of interest, the links do not work when I'm reading my Yahoo mail on a desktop -- either Macbook or Lenovo/Windows, both using Chrome, and also just checked IE on the Windows PC.
However, if I read email on my iPad, the links are clickable. |
The emails have the wrong format, it's not you, it's them.
I have posted the reason here, hopefully they will fix it soon as it is quite annoying when you have to copy and paste the links... |
^ Thanks! :)

Tech test @yahoo email services.

Still broken. The email format hasn't changed the slightest bit. :(
Also, like I said, this has nothing to do whatsoever with Yahoo. |
Test #2 reset yahoo

Now it's fixed! Thank you! :)
