FAQ: Why did FlyerTalk add them"Expert Hotel Review" feature?
The (FlyerTalk) website has rolled out a new hotel guide in which its members rate and review hotels from around the world. FlyerTalk “soft-launched” its Expert Hotel Reviews feature earlier this fall, but is now talking about the effort publicly for the first time.
What’s behind the effort to add hotel reviews? Tarr (Jeremy Tarr, FlyerTalk's editorial director) says such information has long been posted to FlyerTalk over the years, but it typically has come in users’ “trip reports” that have sprung out of the site's frequent-flier focused origins.
“FlyerTalk has a ton of information from a lot of expert travelers who have flown all over the world and stayed at shocking numbers of hotels,” Tarr says. “A lot of that information is often buried in the forums. We wanted to organize it into something that it is much more accessible to a broader audience.”

Why are lots of hotel reviews not being counted at all in the section "hotel review badges"? I am not talking about a review being considered detailed. I mean a review being counted, period.
Some are counted and some are not; I cannot find what is the difference between them.

The badge page shows two numbers: the number of reviews, and the number of detailed reviews in parantheses. I am NOT referring to the number of detailed reviews. I am referring to the first number.
For example, I have 4 Hyatt reviews, but the badge page shows:
2 reviews (1 detailed)
Why is the first number 2 instead of 4? It should be 4 reviews (3 detailed) or 4 reviews (2 detailed) or 4 reviews (1 detailed) but why is the first number 2 reviews, given that I have written 4? Several reviews are just not counted at all.
I realize that the badge is based on the second number (the detailed reviews) but since I am missing reviews (the first number), I believe I am missing detailed reviews too (the second number).

Unfortunately, nothing seems to be different for me. For Hyatt my hotel review badge summary still shows "2 reviews (1 detailed)" but the first number should be 4 instead of 2. Reviews are missing for other hotel chains as well.
When I look at the list of my reviews ("my profile", then "hotel reviews"), the line immediately below the written date is "Hotel: XXX". This line is sometimes a hyperlink in blue, and those reviews seem to be counted. However many other hotel reviews have the line "Hotel: XXX" in black and there is no hyperlink; those are the reviews which seem to not be counted. Whether they are detailed or not.
When I look at the list of my reviews ("my profile", then "hotel reviews"), the line immediately below the written date is "Hotel: XXX". I just went back to my review to discover that my full review has been transformed into a simple post (with all text aggregated) and all pictures have been deleted

My Grand Hyatt Dubai post in the GH Dubai thread has been transformed and is now a simple post without pictures.

However if I go to my profile, then on the map I zoom on Dubai and click on the review, then it shows up properly with all pictures.

The problem is that you cannot access the review from the master map on the "hotel reviews" link of FT so unless someone goes in the map in my own profile, they won't see it.
Also, today I posted a new hotel review for Andaz Ottawa. The review has the same problem in the thread: all text aggregated and no pictures.

And for this one, when I click on the map in my profile, the hotel does not appear in Ottawa, but rather in the middle of the map, somewhere south of Ghana, in the ocean. But at least, once again the review shows up properly with pictures.
