I have also several of my hotel review which are not counted as detailed reviews while I believe they should be. I link the concerned ones. IBobi, could you look at that please ? :)

http://www.flyertalk.com/hotel-revie...collection-660
http://www.flyertalk.com/hotel-revie...to-centre-1176

A non-related question : when you look at hotel reviews, you can see for some authors the word "EXPERT" added after their names and not for other authors ? What is this quality/title ?

Thank you

If you click EDIT on any of the reviews, at the bottom you'll be able to see what milestone is preventing the review from being considered "Detailed"

If the images are linked from a 3rd party site, they are not counted. They must be uploaded directly to the site.

The term "EXPERT" is given to members who have published at least 1 detailed review.

Hi, I've checked my reviews and noticed that most of my reviews cannot hit the detailed option as the photo milestone is not hit. But I have definitely uploaded all the photos directly to the site yet at least half of my reviews encounter the same issue.

Same for me.
I looked at this one I did :
http://www.flyertalk.com/hotel-revie...ollection-1039
and was 100% sure that the pictures were uploaded through the FT system and clicking on edit as suggested by IBtyen, it was showing 0/2 for pictures as the "non-compliant" item for the detailed review (my review contained at least 20 pictures). So I deleted 2 of the pictures and uploaded them again. Everything looks "compliant". But when I saved the changes, the review still doesn't appear as a detailed one

So why is this term not appearing for me. I have written about 15 of those ? See screenshot below with my review first (non expert) followed by 2 other expert fellows (and I know they are true experts ;-) . Thanks !
PS : apparently, I'm not the only one in that case.

I too just posted an MO review. It says I have the two pictures, but I don't have the MO badge?

IBtyen Aug 15, 2016 11:14 am

I've checked your reviews as they are all marked as a detailed review.

This hotel for example. You are the only one to review it, you can see it's marked as detailed:

http://www.flyertalk.com/hotel-revie...s-imperial-984

It shows up this way for all your reviews.

We are looking into this one.

This was an old feature that will soon be removed.

Wasn't sure to post this in the wiki or the review section. Might do both.

Reviews override wikis when looking at threads. Example, if I go to the Marriott forum & scroll down the list of threads London County Hall is shown. It shows "Review" next to it, but not "Wiki" whereas with other threads that don't have reviews it will show "Wiki". So someone wouldn't know there was a wiki (which quite frankly can be more valuable than reviews at times) unless they open up the thread. Is there a reason "Review" overrides "Wiki", or is there a reason they both can't display when looking at the thread before someone opens it?

Cheers.

This is now fixed -- both REVIEW and WIKI will appear where appropriate.

And what about mine (see posts #46 and 49) ?

It's not fixed. If you look at the thread I mentioned, prior to the fix REVIEW showed & even though there was a wiki, WIKI did not show.

Post 'fix', now NEITHER REVIEW nor WIKI show, so no one would know there was either a review or a wiki until they opened the thread!

If there is a wiki only thread, wiki still shows. If there's a review only thread, review still shows. But now post-fix, if there's both then neither show. Looks like they flipped the wrong button re: display - turning them off when there are both vs. turning them on when there are both.

This is the thread I was referring to when I posted originally & which I just checked.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...unty-hall.html

If you're scrolling through the threads on Marriott, the thread (currently) resides on page 9 (with pages set to maximum threads display per page), so you can see that neither review nor wiki displays for the thread.

Cheers.

SkiAdcock Aug 30, 2016 10:53 am

Can confirm that wiki & review both displaying in a thread is still not fixed. In fact adding one to the other makes them both disappear.

This thread originally had Review in the thread title. I added a wiki based on some information in the review. Not only did Wiki not appear in the thread title, the previously displayed Review disappeared.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...ess-hotel.html

Looks like IT flipped the wrong button re: display - turning them off when there are both vs. turning them on when there are both.

Cheers.

It's still in the tech queue to be worked on. No resolution yet. I will report when fixed. Thank you.
