FAQ: Why did FlyerTalk add them"Expert Hotel Review" feature?

The (FlyerTalk) website has rolled out a new hotel guide in which its members rate and review hotels from around the world. FlyerTalk “soft-launched” its Expert Hotel Reviews feature earlier this fall, but is now talking about the effort publicly for the first time.

What’s behind the effort to add hotel reviews? Tarr (Jeremy Tarr, FlyerTalk's editorial director) says such information has long been posted to FlyerTalk over the years, but it typically has come in users’ “trip reports” that have sprung out of the site's frequent-flier focused origins.

“FlyerTalk has a ton of information from a lot of expert travelers who have flown all over the world and stayed at shocking numbers of hotels,” Tarr says. “A lot of that information is often buried in the forums. We wanted to organize it into something that it is much more accessible to a broader audience.”

I'll ask tech; I don't even see any evidence that there were photos there, so there's nothing I can do on my end.

Fixed. Looks like it was accidentally changed from a Review to a regular thread

There was a backlog of about 2 months in putting hotel reviews in the master list, and now it looks like it's been all taken care of!

One minor note about the review below: loyalty program should be Marriott (not independent) and brand is Design (not AC hotels)

Any progress or news on this?

I'll ask IBryan to fix that review.

Hi
can you please have a look at this thread
Review of Sofitel Phokeetra Phnom Penh
i made 3 reviews in this thread. In the 2 1st ones, which are on page 1, I am 99.9% sure that there were some pictures but they have disappeared.
I had a similar issue in another thread that you solved very efficiently, so I hope you’ll do the same here
thank you

The Fairmont and Accor badges have not been merged properly, unlike the Marriott and Starwood badges. See below.

Just for clarity, there are two separate issues, not just one "badge issue". The issue I raised is very minor and it's about the badges of Fairmont+BanyanTree not merging with Accor the way Starwood was merged properly with Marriott, but this is no big deal in the grand scheme of things.

However I understand @Goldorak 's issue is more problematic and is about pictures disappearing from old reviews.
