Is anyone else getting the strobe light ads on FT?
Marriott Rewards credit card ad while here on FT - goes nuts with strobe-like flashing. I've clicked around to find an ad-free option and haven't had any luck.
Don't think it's my computer because it's only this one Marriott ad that has the problem - others on FT just sit there and are fine. |
Yes
Of all the websites I go on FT has the most disruptive and obnoxious ads. |
This is more than just obnoxious - seriously fit inducing if someone was so inclined - I mean such fast flashing you can't even read what they are trying to say, obviously a glitch, but I don't know how to fix it (someone please help?) and I literally have to go away when this Ad is on. Other ads (right now I've got the Red Cross which is fine) - but Alaska air, American, United, etc. are all fine - this Marriott credit card is truly an issue.

Are you on the desktop full site or the mobile skin? Can you take a screen shot? |
I'm on a desktop using IE, using the full site, and I have no idea how to take a screen shot of something happening on the periphery (top and sides of the FT site).
It is specifically the Marriott credit card ad where they talk about "so many waterfalls", etc. All other ads are fine. |
Guess what? Just went to the Marriott forum and the ad is there, and it seemed fine...just sitting there like it should. If you did something to fix it already, thank you, if it acts up again I'll let you know.
But it was strobing for a good 2 days. |

I'll try that.
I was just on the Hilton forum and the Marriott ad was there-still strobing. I did find that Prt Sc Sys Rq key. So I just click on that while the ad is strobing? How do I get it onto this thread? |
Found the strobing ad, clicked on the Key, and nothing happened. Clicked CTRL and the key and still nothing happened.
Please walk me through what to do. I'd really like to help make this go away. |

I'm so sorry, but this way beyond my abilities. I went to the Marriott forum. the ad was there but not strobing. I clicked on the windows icon and then the Prt Sc simultaneously. Screen hesitated for a second. Then came on here and tried to "paste", which I usually do with hitting Ctrl and V, but nothing happened.
Obviously I must be the only person having this problem. Maybe somebody else will and they can help. |

When replying to a post, as I am doing now, look down under Additional Options. See where it says 'attach files'? Click on 'manage attachments' and choose the photo you have just saved, then click 'upload'. Your photo will appear in your reply as a thumbnail.

I'm sorry, I am 64 years old (not an excuse) but I'm just not computer savvy. You might as well be talking to a wall. We still have a stupid flip phone. Our 30 year old kids want to tear their hair out with us.
I told what is happening...I'm either the only person it is happening to in which case oh well I'll just deal with it, or it's happening to someone else and they can help. I do not even know how to quote of the forums - have no idea how to get a quote into the box like everyone else. I've asked 2 people who seemed nice and one tried to help but just sent me links how to multi-quote, and the other ignored me. |
