Images appearing despite option setting

In the options section I have show images disabled and mostly it works

I went into the thread http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/inter...singapore.html and images were displayed from post 1 in the thread

Can it be fixed such that the images do not display in "review" threads

Yes
I have images off and in that thread the images are showing :td:
Is this because of the new hotel reiview feature?

Yes, you will see images that are embedded in reviews.

Can you answer the question in post #1 - ie, the last sentence?

Cheers.

It seems like that would entail a pretty heavy amount of coding, and the pool of users who use the "don;t show images" preference is very small, so I don't think that is going to happen.

Is there a good reason why the preferences setting were not taken in to account when the developers created this feaure?

Surely ensuring that settings are adhered to would be part of the design requirements

It seems that ignoring preferences is viewed as an ok development feature with this and with video links also appearing as images

I'm sure it was just because almost nobody uses "hide images".

That's hardly an excuse . There is a preference setting for images - it is a reasonable expecation that any additions to the software take account settings into account.

It shouldn't be looked at as amount of work to change , but simply a rectification of code that is not working correctly and that the new code has not yet been delivered correctly. This is a bug fix , not a change
