PLEASE POST SCREENSHOTS of the FULL SCREEN and report your DEVICE TYPE, BROWSER TYPE AND VERSION, and COUNTRY where you are browsing from in your post. This thread is strictly for the reporting of disruptive ads, including unwanted popups, page hijscks, malware attempts, etc. related to ad content. We understand disruptive advertisements lessen the enjoyment of your FlyerTalk browsing experience. Please post all disruptive advertisement reports here; your full report (see above) will assist Internet Brands / FlyerTalk in handling these expeditiously. Admin / Tech attempts to respond to all reports speedily, but eliminating problem adverts may require communication with advertisements suppliers or devising technical solutions that may require time. (Internet Brands operates during customary and usual work hours on the U. S. West Coast; holidays, weekends, etc. are observed.)

To see how to include a screen shot in your post, once you have taken the screen shot follow the instructions "Inserting a photo or image from your device into a post:" in the first post in the thread http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/techn...mage-post.html

NOTE: Internet Brands and FlyerTalk discourage the use of software that modifies your FlyerTalk browsing experience (e.g. ad blocking software). IB / FT declines all responsibility for the use of such software and can not provide support or assistance if such software is used. As well, we remind you IB / FT can only provide FlyerTalk free to members because of the financial support of advertisers; using ad blockers denies IB / FT income that would normally pay for your free community membership and browsing experience..

Posts suggesting or discussing use of ad blocking etc. software will be summarily deleted.

Getting a lot of the same ads hijacking my phone as recently as this morning.

But I think I found a solution to the huge CPU and memory usage in Chrome on Windows. I installed the "No Coin" extension that blocks coin mining in browser and that has drastically reduced CPU and memory usage on FT.

You guys have a real problem with ad quality control since you're allowing coin miners to hijack your site.

Really ? So FT allows Bitcoin mining on its website ? Is IB aware that on some countries, that can access FT, this is an illegal activity ? This is not the first time that illegal and/or immoral Ads are pointed, IB says they do not stand for this but what actions are taken ?

I guess I’ll throw my complaint into the ring, though I doubt I’m adding anything that hasn’t already been reported.

These issues have been happening off and on for the past month or so, both on my iPhone (5s) and iPad (Air). Both have the latest iOS updates.

Reading this thread, it makes me wonder how out-of-touch IB actually is. If ads like those posted actually exist, of course people will use an ad-blocker and block all the ads.

Using an ad blocker has kept my laptop fans from going nuts while using FT. FT is one of the few sites where I feel I really need an ad blocker.

3 viruses, an FT exclusive ? (Malware popups - to merge)

Three times today, whilst on FT, I hve a pop-up with "Apple" logo saying I have 3 viruses from the last website I was on (=FT). Then "scan now".
I have immediately shut down Safari.
Is anybody else getting this only when on FT?

P.S. My settings is to block pop-ups except from websites I have visited. Anything else I should be doing ?

Outside popups and page diversions that claim they have ostensibly detected viruses on your device are scams that generally try to get you to buy “assistance”, turn over your personal information for fraudulent purposes, etc.

These malware popups are likely generated by skeezy adverts placed by one of the companies buying ad placement on FlyerTalk through their contracted advertising companies.

I don’t know why Internet Brands has been unable to rectify this issue, for example a contract that didn’t take this trashware into account when it was signed with the advert provider or the adware provider’s inadequacy in controlling their ad purchasers or filter their product, but IB is well aware of this issue.

Don’t worry about iOS or Safari being affected by viruses because you were told so by rogue popups. Anyone can clip and paste Apple or other logos into their trashware advertisements and popups; that only is an indication of how dishonest and desperate the creators are to get your money / identity data.

We will merge this into the proper thread soon..

Getting malicious ad from flyertalk.com on iPad Pro 2. Image attached. Please fix. It is really annoying and you can’t back out of it, you must close tabs and start everything again only to have it happen again. This is your responsibility IB and an epic fail.

<redacted>

This issue really needs to be addressed by IB itself, it’s unfair of them to leave it to the <redacted> to continue to make policy and excuses on the run. This issue has been going on for how long now? It’s ridiculous and amateur that IB hasn’t been able to fix it.
