Typo in "In the News" description

The word "paragraph" is misspelled in the "In the News" description encouraging people to only cut and paste the first paragraph from copyrighted materials.

Another typo:

On the page that appears after clicking on the Preferences link, the following statement appears in the paragraph at the bottom:

If your browser does not support cookies or you have the cookies option turned off in your browser preferences, the settings you make above will not take affect.
The word in bold should be effect, not affect.

You are welcome, dan at WebFlyer. I am just trying to help.

Here is another typo (highlighted in bold), this time found in the Flyertalk Terms of Service pertaining to the response of personal attacks:

Do not retaliate or respond in any way to a personal attack that you perceive to be directed at yourself or another FlyerTalk member. All to often, when an initial attack is levied, others join the fray and instead of becoming part of the solution, they become part of the problem.

I think I've made all the corrections mentioned above. Let me know if you find others...

Since you asked, here's a real nit-pick:

The links for "next newest topic" and "next oldest topic" work backwards.

The "next newest topic" link goes to a newer topic than the one you're at. However, think about people lined up by height. One is the tallest. Then comes the next tallest, who is shorter than the one you're pointing at, and so on down. The "next tallest" person to anyone is shorter, that is less tall, than that person.

So, "next newest" is the one that's next in line away from being the newest, that is, the one posted to before the one you're at - i.e., it's a bit older (or less new). But the link takes you to one that's more new (newer).

Same for "next oldest;" reverse everything.

You can fix this by changing the words "newest" and "oldest" to "newer" and "older," respectively.

(I said it was a nit-pick! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif )
