Strange behaviour on posts within THAI thread
Following a link, I posted on this thread
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/008638.html My post inserted at page 6 of the thread and the page counter/display on the bottom under the post said the thread has 6 pages. However after coming back after some minutes to MilezBuzz I saw the thread now has 8 pages. And my post from today is inserted on page 6 before other much earlier posts! The thread is corrupt (and maybe one of the causes for the recent shutdown). As this is the second problematic thread on the same issue maybe it would be better to delete it completely? added: BTW: if you got to page 7 or 6 via the page-links below the post, the correct number of 8 pages on this link disappears and it seems the thread now has only 7 or 6 pages. Just saw that OZ had the same thing with a post inserted at the bottom of page 7... (with the word 'test' in it)

That corrupt "DENROC" thread in OMNI went on for 100s or 1000s of posts IIRC as a de-facto Word Association thread - with all that load being posted on an already corrupt thread. THEN it appears a Moderator went and re-named it as Word Association Thread, and a few 1000 more posts get dumped on top of an already corrupt thread. I know nothing about UBB, but have a hunch that can't be a bright idea. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |
I'll rebuild that Thai thread to see if helps anything.
