Missing thread and strange happenings on DL board.

A 2 page thread titled "DELTA LE PEW" has totally disappeared from the first page of the DL board. When you do a search, you are sent to a thread titled "11:21". On the DL board page, mikey1003's name appears in the "number of replies" box for this 11:21 thread. It makes absolutely no sense.

It apparently happened here also.

Is there a back-up system in place, or does this mean that those threads are gone forever?

If a thread has been deleted by a moderator, does FT have a record of who did it?

When that type of corruption happens (the time shifts to the title, etc), it's usually caused by a lot of hits in a certain forum at one time. The thread information becomes overwritten and corrupts. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to recover a thread once it's become messed up like that.

Also, we have a logging system in place for moderator actions...

Dan, thanks for the explanation. So was this caused by an overload of hits or was a moderator involved?

That was caused by an overload...

After reading Randy's explanation as to why FT has been down, it would appear that this thread was hacked.
