"Flood Control"
Many times I get the flood control message when I know it has been greater than 60 seconds since my last post! What up with that?
|
Same here - today, from noon on, there were several posts/threads that were time-stamped six hours earlier than their actual time(Coupon Connection, United, Omni) . I have no idea if the two issues are connected, but since this happened, I have been receiving the flood control messsage as well.

An example from Coupon Connection (note the time-stamp discrepancy in the two posts):

A consequence of implementing the network time protocol that was requested by several users. Before implementing ntp we manually adjusted the time through the bulletin board system.
Sorry for the inconvenience and confusion. I should have shut the board down during implementation. |
John, thanks for the quick reply - I suspected that might be it.
|
The ntp implementation is working! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

John, I still can't post to Omni - I'm getting the flood control message.
|
Blair, are you still getting the flood errors?
|
Dan, no - the problem has gone away. I should have posted back, sorry about that.
Thanks for your help. |
