Back goes too far back

Back goes too far back
It seems that the browser's 'back' button these days throws me all the way back to the list of boards from a specific topic, rather than to the discussion's topic list :-(
Is there a way around that? Could this be a problem with my browser (Opera 6.03 on Linux)?

For Windows users: You may want to experiment with the Back menu item that becomes visible when you right-click in the page.
Also the Refresh item and the Print item.
They all may behave differently from menu selections of the same name.
