Another Corrupted Thread
|
Ugh. I'm trying to get in touch with InfoPop about this.
|
Today one popped up in the AA forum.
|
|
We've been talking with InfoPop about this, and they're telling us that it's a problem with the version that we're using, 5.47. I saw some other, similar complaints on their tech boards involving these problems.
I spoke with one of their programmers, and he actually doesn't recommend we go up to v6 since the amount of traffic we receive would put a big slowdown on the dynamically generated pages version 6 uses. Instead, they suggest UBBThreads or OpenTopic... We have some other products we're going to look at first, though. As far as the corrupted threads, though, we can't rebuild them. Once they become munged like they are, they're unrecoverable. |
One just went Goffy on "The News" I was posting to Dan. It is now showing as "8.52" thread title: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...ML/004810.html This was the "Flying White Arab" thread, which was 5 pages long that I just tried to post to. A long post for "The News" but do not see why that should cause the error? The original thread can still be viewed up until my attempted post here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum.../004810-5.html I have little doubt the CIA and/or FBI and/or Pentagon have infiltrated FT to remove this from public view, given the subject matter. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif ------------------ ~ Glen ~ Calling all United 1K Members - please join .. www.1Kflyers.com |
ugh... no, it's not the length of your post; just that file corruption problem that seems to be spreading because of traffic...
Can you try linking to the last page of the (good version) of the old thread in your new post? Since the thread is now corrupted, it'll probably disappear the next time an update is run, but it may still allow the conversation to continue in it in the meantime... |
Both have vanished from sight now. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
