password & user name disappear.

each time i go to flyertalk & want to post, i have to enter name & password. it stays for my session but goesaway when i finish.

in the past, it was rare that i would have to enter name & password.

is there a problem?

Gentlemen, I had the same problem recently after upgrading to OSX. I went into the FT "Preferences" option (listed underneath the Post New Topic/ Post Reply options), clicked on the "Click here to delete all cookies set by this forum!" option, then re-clicked on "Yes" for the "Store Username & Password in browser memory" option.

It worked for me.

it worked, thanks blair.

Thanks for the assist on this; It definitely sounds like a lost cookie problem. Resetting your FT cookies should take care of it. Thanks again.

I've tried that once or twice, but it's never lasted long. Hundreds of other sites manage to store cookies successfully for me, but this one is hopeless.

thank you blair - but it only worked for the two next sessions ...

blairvanhorn Aug 17, 2002 12:04 am

Sorry to hear that, Rudi. Mine works fine ever since I zapped the old cookies after my upgrade to OSX - I am using MS Explorer as well.

Did you also click on the "Pretty please" option? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

still working after 4 or 5 sessions, but am keeping my fingers crossed!

Clacko, something must be working: you didn't have to edit your post! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
