Lost posts

No biggie, but FWIW, I've made a few posts that appear to have been lost forever in cyberspace during the "upheaval" of the last few days with the UNITED forum, and the SEARCH function being down, and OMNI at a very slow crawl, if at all.

Two posts in OMNI particularly come to mind, one regarding Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect" being cancelled by Disney's ABC, and the other, far more critical, my guess as to when the "WAT" will ultimately meet the 2000 post barrier!

Any idea where they are possibly hiding? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Well, after searching OMNI both through the public search as well as the admin search, I'd have to say your posts are residing in /dev/null (the proverbial FT black hole).

I don't know how United's problems could have impacted posts to OMNI, but _something_ ate your posts, that's for sure.

More of Doc's posts are vanishing, he replied to 3 omni topics (old ones), I read them, then when I went back to re-read they were gone...

The last post time/date still reflected the time he replied but the post was gone. After about half an hour they were there again, and then vanished again, one of his posts even ends in a 404.

Detailed technical explanations leave me in awe. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Can you give me links to the threads those vanishing posts are in?

With Doc having almost 30,000 posts, what's a few missing ones?

ozstamps May 24, 2002 10:41 am

I have more posts than doc but 23,000 of them have vanished. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

FWIW, I again have seemingly lost a post to this thread:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum.../004819-4.html

from early this morning!

Any thoughts? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

What post did you lose? I see one from you for this morning at 8am on page 6:

Dan- It was the AP story, a summary and a link, regarding the latest suicide bombing at Hebrew University, posted early yesterday morning, in which, sadly, 7 people were murdered, including five Americans! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Just wanted to let you know. It seems that this thread, in particular, is apt to drop me off in FT Miles as well.

Thanks! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Yeah, that thread seems to be staying in Miles for whatever reason. As for your missing posts, though, I can't find anything that isn't already in there. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
