Maybe a "FT Status" page for when FT is down?
 
It would have probably have been better to start this topic here, rather than in Randy's forum. But I'll cross post it here. I'm sure that you could easily identify several trusted FT'ers who could alert you in "real time" when FT is down.

Since the "Only Randy" forum is no more (which is the link cited in my opener) maybe folks can add their voices here to the very great need -- as this weekend shows! -- for an FT status page on a non-webflyer server that could tell us when FT is down (or what parts are down/impaired) and when a fix is expected.

A sensible idea. Or perhaps a bulk email to those already in the regular data base to advise things are back up over a long outage. Bulk email is close to free to use, and the system and database already exists.
