Weird omni problem...
 

There is still a problem with the page counts in Omni, it's not showing all the pages and even stranger: when browsing a multi page thread in omni Ft decides to move me from FT travel to FT dining...

When I click on page 80 (the last page according to the thread view) I go to an old page where it suddenly says it has 112 pages and at the same time takes me to FT dining again....

Adding: the funny thing is that FT dining doesn't have a link to omni..

Try it yourself, go to the word assoc. thread, choose any page and look at the top board listing, it's suddenly omni hanging under ft dining...

Please recall and see:

"For some reason, posting to an 'OMNI' thread increasingly seems to drop me off in "FT DINING"!

Makes me hungry!

Any ideas why this may be happening?

You guys have much more quickly than I desccribed the problem I was seeing of being dropped off in FTMiles when viewing OMNI sometimes.

Tonight, I'm seeing the same thing with being dropped off in Dining, although now that the page counts agree, I don't think there are any meaningful repercussions to this.

This has happened before (the switching from Omni to FT Dining), as recently as a few weeks ago, but I thought Dan had the problem corrected. Happening again?

Sorry, I was wrong.

I am now ALWAYS sent to FTDining whenever opening a thread, and FT Dining is set to 25 posts per page, so the page count on the OMNI index doesn't match the page count on the actual thread.

Is it possible to export and totally redo the OMNi board? It sounds like problems related to the original concept of having OMNI on all 4 boards, which isn't necessary any longer.

I'll rebuild the threads again, and do a separate one for OMNI (in Travel) to see if that'll help...

UPDATE: Okay, the threads in Travel have been updated (after I did Miles), so let's see if this helped. I'm going to spot check the areas mentioned before and see, but if anyone notices anything, post it here...

When I click on the Word Association Thread, I am still taken to FT Dining, although they both now agree on the number of pages.

Therefore, the only ill effect of being in FT Dining is that you have to hit back to change forums, and you can't jump directly to OMNI to see an updated index page. Neither will cause anyone to lose sleep!

I did click on a couple pages within the WAT, after I did the rebuilds, and received the Travel headers...

Perhaps related. I can only get to page 81 of The Word Association Thread. All pages therafter I cannot reach.

Yeah, I only see 81 pages listed in the OMNI post list, but when I click within some of the WAT pages, I see that it's listing 113 pages...

I'll keep snooping around.

UPDATE: I rebuilt OMNI and the latest posts now seem to be on page 81 (with the last post happening today at 11:44am by squeakr), and I can't find any listings for 113 pages anymore...
