I always select the text and hit ctrl-c to copy it before I hit "submit" - I've experienced what you describe often enough to learn the hard way. If you lose it, just bit back, ctrl-v and paste it back in..

You may be keenly aware of this trick - don't mean to insult...

I wasn't aware of this at all...thank you very much for the advice. Next time I'll do this and only use 8 pictures as well.

I'm waiting for your reports, darn it! I'm sorry about your problems.

I take it you are on a PC? I'm on Mac, and I use a freeware product called UBB Writer 2.0 that allows me to write posts with pull-down menus for formatting (including bold, italics, smilies, etc) before I post. Surely this type of product exists for PC? Anyone?

Otherwise, write your trip report in a word processor and save it before posting (or trying to!).

I promise you that you won't do this more than 10 or 12 times, before you remember to quickly select text and copy it before hitting "submit" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The same thing frequently happens on Yahoo mail - hit "send" and it goes to a blank page. Grrrr. So I have no comfort to offer other than Blairvanhorn's good suggestion to use a word processor first. Tho I find that cumbersome for relatively small posts, I do recommend it for longer posts..

Carioca, is it still doing it to you? We do have the limit set to 8 (UBB default), but it shouldn't have given you an error with only 4.

I've had the blank screen happen to me as well, both here and on other BBs I frequent. I'm with spvii; I copy before posting, just in case. Usually I draft it up in Outlook, for the spell checking, then post it...

That product blair uses sounds pretty sweet. Can you give me the URL for it?

Carioca Canuck Jan 28, 2002 9:20 pm

I'll redo part 2 of 3 parts...NO PICS though.......tomorrow.

Dan:

http://home.appleisp.net/~j-gar_co/ubbw.html

for UBB Writer 2.0 (Mac only).

It's nothing fancy, but it's easy to use.
