Changing e-mail address
 

How does one change the e-mail address associated with a FT account? I see how to change lots of other things using the Profile page, but I need to change my e-mail address, and don't want to close down 2 many miles and have to make a new account...

2MM, I just modified my profile to submit a new email address and it was accepted by FT server.

Have you tried this and did it not work for you? Specifics, please. I will do my best to help you.

2MM, I've never tried changing the e-mail address that's stored in my profile, but the only advice I can give is to make sure the new address you enter is a valid one. If (emphasis on if) the "e-mail verification" option in UBB is turned on by the FT admins, changing your e-mail address will result in a new randomly-generated password being sent to the new address. You then need to use this new password to login again to FT, after which you can change back to your existing password if you so desire. The only snafu that might come up is if the new e-mail address you enter is invalid in which case your handle, 2 Many Miles, becomes unrecoverable.

Hit the profile tab on the top of this page, and then enter your FT user name and password. Hit the submit identification tab, enter your new email address and hit the submit modifications tab. Make sure that you hit yes to making your email address viewable. I did this successfully today when I activated my public address on FT per your suggestion.
