After posting in the Continental forum, for the past hour I have received the following notice whenever I have tried to edit my own post.

We cannot post this because it appears that you are tring to hack the topic subject. Use your back button to try again.

I may be a lot of things, but I am not a hacker. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Still trying to edit my message after all these hours and still receiving the same message.

I'm still no hacker.

But I am considering the possibility. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Would it happen to be this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum20/HTML/002986.html ?

If so, I'd speculate that the error is occuring because there is a less-than "<" sign in the topic title and the angle brackets are of course used for HTML...

As a matter of fact, FewMiles, yes it is that thread. I should have referenced it in my post above, sorry. Any thoughts on why was I allowed to post a response in that thread yet not edit that same post?

dan at WebFlyer Jul 30, 2001 3:40 pm

FewMiles, I think you're dead-on with that. I posted a message, then wasn't allowed to edit it, either.

It looks like another "undocumented feature" with the board software. We'll see if we can squash this bug.

In the meantime, I've changed the Subject of that thread...

Thank you for your insight FewMiles and thank you dan at WebFlyer for your assistance. I appreciate it. I just edited my post and all is well again. No more accusations of being a hacker.

PS I just dropped out of Hacker's University of The Sky. Decided to keep my day job. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Thanks again.

Thank you RichG. I remember that news conference all too well. I couldn't have said it better myself.

I try to go to the trouble to quote the whole thing since it's so often misquoted.
