Edit This Topic

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...ML/000981.html

It's way too long (no spaces after the commas) and is really fouling up the format of the SPAM forum page.

Thanks.

And this one in the Coupon Connection: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...ML/003548.html

Cactuspete, if you have so much time on your hands, why don't you count the other 8-10 post titles that are as long as mine and post them here as well? I have apologized to you AND I tried to delete my posts and was not allowed.
You also know that titles are not able to be touched in the editing process. This will all roll over in 1 hour, so take a chill pill.

Take your own advice. It is your post that screwed up two forums. I am well aware that you can not edit topic titles - - that is the reason that I started this thread! Hopefully, FT techs can fix it. BTW, the length of the topic has absolutely nothing to do with the problem (and, if you really thought that it did, then why did you re-post in the thread in the Coupon Connection? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif ). And no, it will not "roll over in an hour" (unless I change my preferences).

what is the problem? with both of my browsers (Netscape 4.72 Mac Version and Explorer 5 Mac Version), if I have only a small window open, the titles of the above topics are just displayed on two lines.

Rudi,

I am with you.... I don't understand the problem... it could be computer or software specific.

I guess my beef would be that it is posted twice in two different forums.

The Problem Is:

It is no longer possible to view those pages conveniently, (horizontally) from left to right in their entirety, as is the case with the other 113 forums. It now mandates the use of horizontal scrolling with every visit to the topic pages of those two forums. If you have your preferences set to "Show all topics" it's not just a matter of time. It will continue.

Apparently, this situation does not occur with all browsers or systems. I am soooooooo jealousİ, Rudi http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif And wharvey, no amount of Jack Daniel's has helped. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif On a PC I am running Windows Me v4.90.300 with Internet Explorer v5.50.4522.1800IS.

It's times like these when it would be advantageous if we (the author) could edit our topic headlines. Normal spacing between the words would have avoided this. Hopefully, IMHO the powers that be can go in and add a few spaces. It might also be helpful to point this quirk out in the FlyerTalk "How To Post" guidelines???

A lot of what you see depends on your screen resolution and the font on your browser.

On IE, look at "View - Text Size" and change it to a smaller font. I'm running 1024 X 768, with a text size of Medium on IE & have no problem with those threads.

opus17, I tried your suggestion (even took it down to the smallest text), but no luck.

wharvey Jun 24, 2001 5:05 pm

MRLIMO,

That probably explains it for me... I have a 19" monitor.

But I do find it hard to believe that unlimited Jack Daniels, in a Presidents Club, with their finest Crystal would not solve the problem. TELL ME IT IS NOT SO!

William
