Unable to Permanently Change Preferences
I have unsuccessfully tried a number of times to change my "preferences". When I go to a topic, my preferences says "view last 5 days". When I go to change my preferences, it says "from the last day". I change it to view "the last 2 days" and then I go back to a topic and it says "view the last 5 days". I then go back to preferences and it says my preference is "view the last day". I really do not want to see the last 5 days of topics when I view a specific thread. I am not sure what anyone else is experiencing, but if one gets 5 days regardless of what their preferences say, then here is a contributor to server slowness.

JAWS, I assume you're using Netscape. If you're not... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
There is a problem with the code in N'scape recognizing the cookies & holding your preferences. I've had the problem ongoing. Sometimes the cookies will 'hold' for a week, sometimes only for a day or two. I've reset them at least 3 times this past week. You need to 'delete all of the cookies' and reset your preferences. They should hold then. MS IE works just fine, it seems to hold the cookies with no problem. The folks at FT know about the problem & they're trying to fix it. |
shadow,
Thanks for your reply. However, I'm using IE 5, and hesitate to use the "delete all the cookies" option for fear that this option also deletes passwords, etc. |
OK shadow,
I just mustered enough courage to use the "delete cookies" option and it worked and did not affect passwords, etc. Thanks for the advice, even though I'm using IE 5. |
