Where is the red folders?

Have we done away with RED folders to indicate new repsonses to topics since our last visit?

This was a very easy and nice way to view the threaded topics within a category to determine what to view since our last time on FT.

What gives?

Once you log off & back on the folders & bulbs should come back. Another suggestion has been to 'refresh' the page.

Dorian Nov 3, 1999 7:31 am

No dice....the red is dead....

james Nov 6, 1999 7:50 am

Me too - and it's a big nuisance.

doc Nov 6, 1999 7:53 am

Again, I'm using IE5 and it's working fine. What browser(s) are you using?

Damian Nov 6, 1999 8:59 am

When I run new FlyerTalk.com for the first time I didn't have a red folder either http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
It drove me nuts !!

I deleted all cookies by going to Forum Preferences, restarted my browser and set a new ones.
It worked http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Try it, that is probably it

Dorian Nov 9, 1999 12:42 am

Still doesn't work for me after multiple times of killing my cookie.

These technical problems are a real drag. I am starting to visit FT less and less.

Also, I still access FT via a direct URL as the 'new' FT layout takes too long to load with the graphic and all the menu tabs. Also, they take up too much real estate.

Strangely, I too have now lost the red after cleaning my history/cookies to avoid another unrelated "illegal" baloney problem related to Windows and another program!

QuietLion Nov 9, 1999 11:37 am

Light bulbs working, but red folders not. Using IE5, old URL.

Dorian Nov 9, 1999 11:49 am

Quiet: ditto

ME too - IE5 and old URL = no red folders

Axey Nov 9, 1999 9:50 pm

Guys,

I was having the same problem.. The problem is that the board seems to have moved back to www.webflyer.com (from talk.webflyer.com). Give this URL a try, the red folders should work fine (at least they did for me):

http://www.flyertalk.com/forumcgi/Ultimate.cgi

Dorian Nov 10, 1999 12:40 am

Yup, that URL brings the red folders back...

Dorian

BlondeBomber Nov 10, 1999 7:11 am

It also makes the light bulbs work totally OK (even when using the "tree" in the top right corner I get only the bulbs that should be lit unlike the other URL where I get all the bulbs lit again).

THANKS!!

BlondeBomber Nov 10, 1999 7:15 am

It also works from http://www.flyertalk.com/boardsfr.htm but then you get that large picture taking up room at the top of the page.

doc Nov 10, 1999 7:37 am

Thanks again Axey and BB!

Damian Nov 10, 1999 10:14 am

Ufff !!

Now we can talk http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Thanks Axey and BlondeBomber

Dorian Nov 11, 1999 12:55 am

Now none of my bulbs even appear!!!!

This is driving me nuts!

I am visiting FT about 50% as much as I used too!!

Anyone listening at FT ?????

Dorian

james Nov 14, 1999 4:18 pm

I've now tried on two machines, one never used for FT and one with cookies cleared and I don't get any red folders. All the light bulbs seem fine. This is very ANNOYING. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

nathan detroit Nov 14, 1999 4:54 pm

If this thing must hang around (it's now two weeks) would someone please correct the verb:

Where ARE, not where is, the red folders."

PremEx Nov 14, 1999 5:49 pm

Click the "preferences" link at the top of the page under your old URL and click on Delete Cookies/Preferences.

Then go to the new URL that Axey has listed above and do the same deletion. Now go back to preferences at this new URL and set them how you want them. Once you have done this close your browser and restart it. You may not have any bulbs the first time you go to the new URL but after hitting reload everything should start working (of course none will be lit the first time).

Also be sure to check that your bookmark is changed to the new URL and that if you have selected FlyerTalk as your browser's "Home" that you change that URL address to the new one as well.
