What if two FT member signatures are the same?
Recently, I received a PM informing me that my (awesome) FlyerTalk signature contained too many special symbols/characters and would need to be changed to conform to signature guidelines which I somehow overlooked.
Being a responsible FT member, I immediately butchered my (formerly awesome) signature down to 1 letter and 1 special character. My new signature is simple... in fact it is so boringly simple that I wonder if another FT member is already using it. I searched the FT Rules for guidelines regarding members having the same signature and couldn't locate any information. So what happens if there is a conflict between 2 FT members using the same signature? It certainly wouldn't have been an issue with my original (formerly awesome) special character laden siggy. Any thoughts? Would it be of any value to use another member's signature for awhile and see what happens? |
Unless there is some sort of copyright issue at hand, I guess I'm confused as to why this would even be a problem if two posters happen to have the same signature. Is there some reason why it should be against the rules for this to happen?

Shouldn't be an issue at all. I currently have seen at least two members with identical signatures (one borrowed the other's), specifically reminding FT members to vote in the current TalkBoard elections.
If a member sees a potential conflict (instead of feeling flattered), some civil discourse by PM is apt to take care of the issue. |
