Cause of FT database errors?

Woke up this morning and noticed that Flyertalk was down for some time due to a data base error. So I started thinking, which bank got angry at us this time? :D:cool: But all humor aside,
What causes these periodic "database errors" to occur?

My guess is it could be a variety of things - software, hardware. But the banks & cc referrals could be behind it :p :D

Cheers.

Is it just maintenance? It would be nice to have a clearer result.

I doubt it would be hardware. These days Large IT services don't get brought down my hardware failure.

Different reasons. To see the cause in your instance, follow this guidance the next time it happens - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/21895655-post51.html

Post the output here & maybe that'll help the IB staff. Maybe remove your IP address from the error message.
