Forum not updating

and last time this happened, it did not work out well for me...

IBobi Jan 30, 2014 12:55 pm

What does "forum not updating" mean?

underpressure Jan 30, 2014 2:27 pm

I am afraid to say anything...

There was an OMNI PR post at 3:07

I replied some moments later.

twenty minutes later, when I clicked on "My FT" it showed the 3:07 post and not my post. When I clicked on the thread, my post showed up.

Odd....

underpressure Jan 30, 2014 2:29 pm

and right now, I click on "MY FT" and I only see the post from Bobbi...

This is at 4:29

no change at 5:19

I'm seeing this too. Almost as if it's using an old cached version. Posts have disappeared (e.g. from the Dublin Hilton thread here - it was up to page 7 and the latest post was by BAGoldBoy, see image grab below from a previous browsing session I had open) and new ones are not appearing.
Ironically, this post will probably not be seen until it's fixed.

Well, my post is showing up here, but the post I just made on the Hilton forum (here Post #12) is not displaying. At first I thought it was my internet connection / local caching, but I've tried 2 browsers so it's not that.

I've just reposted what I wrote earlier (slightly different wording) and it's displaying this time. Weird!

Should be resolved now. It was a cacheing issue. Thank you!

Thank you for your efforts. Any chance you could get the boffins to take another look, as the thread in question is still not updating for me. For example, if I look in my post history one particular post is meant to be located here. However, when I click the link, the thread's most recent post is 24 April 2011. Nothing newer is displayed.

Edit: the moderator for that forum suggested I change my number of posts per page option. I set it to 40 from the default and I can now see the "missing" posts. Great to have a workaround but obviously there was (is?) an underlying issue.

You may have to clear your browser cache. I see the_savman post in April 2012.

Not as "lucky" as you since cache issue doesn't explain what I saw.

Just for entertainment, I gave it a try and checked the referenced thread for the 1st time ever. The last post presented to me is Post#15, made by ShopAround in April, 2011.

BTW, if it would matter, my default view is always 15 posts per page. IMHO, the number of posts per page option shouldn't affect which latest post FTers can see.

IBobi Feb 4, 2014 1:24 pm

Hmm. Let me look again. It seems to be lim iting what you can see to what your posts per page is defaulting to.

Meantime, if you want to see them all, you could set your posts per page higher.

All I can say is all posts in any given thread should be viewable to all readers. Even though in this case it does, but the post-per-page option shouldn't affect the number of "visible" posts. Period.

I am not a programmer but it sounds like a bug. Please have an able person find the bug and fix it. However, if the history (of IB debugging) ever teaches us anything...(Sigh)

IBobi Feb 5, 2014 12:04 pm

Yes it is a bug, that's why I'm having tech look at it ;)

Should be fixed now
