Cursor handling issues when editing posts

I am using IE9.

Regular entry of posts (like I am doing now) is fine, and all keys work as normal. However, if I bring back a post to edit it for typos etc, I find that the four cursor control arrows do not work at all. If I click at a point then, eventually after repetition, it will highlight the whole word, and by various subterfuges not involving the four cursor arrow keys (which are disabled) I can achieve what I want.

Any ideas ?

Using IE9 I have no problems with the arrow keys. Perhaps it's a keyboard setting?
