Is the daily winner that pops up here a scam?

It told me I won an IPad and then asked me a lot of personal questions and would I like a 1000 dollars sent to my bank account. it looked like a scam because it then asked me load some software which is where I draw the line. I am surprised that FT would allow something like this.

If FT is not responsible it looks like my popup blocker and Adaware didn't function for this.:td:

Rewards flow is a scam. It appears on Facebook also.

Moving this to Technical Issues so someone from IB can address it.

I made the mistake of upgrading my browser to IE9 and also started seeing this. Previously I had used IE8 with an addon product that was recommended here called IE7 Pro, which also worked with IE8.

After the update, I started getting that popup as well as double underlined words on websistes that would show an ad if I hovered over it.

From clicking around, I found out it was an addin to the browser that could be uninstalled from control panel. For the life of me, I can't recall the name of it, but if you browse through your installed programs in control panel, you'll see the name of one with (uninstall) next to the name.

Get rid of it and you'll stop those annoying ads.

FWIW - I reverted back to IE8 and my addin started working again. I'm not seeing any annoying ads.

Does sound like a browser issue local to the user -- try navigating to the site with another browser & see if it's still happening.

Generally speaking, winning $1000 (or $1) on the Internet for doing nothing sounds like a scam. Definitely not FT-related or approved.

...if you can post a screenshot of the popup that might help determine exactly where it's coming from too. But sounds browser-y.

IBobi... it was happening to me on various sites - until I found that program and uninstalled it.

Apparently it attaches itself to other products, perhaps IE9, and serves you ads independent of FT and its ad servers.

Thanks Mary :)

I found out it's infoatoms and some virus protection programs consider it a virus and delete it :)

It's an add-in and I was fooling around with IE & firefox over the weekend and must have either accidentally downloaded it, or it was attached to something I did download.
