posting bug? "you have reached the max ..."

"You have reached the maximum number of posts (0) allowed in a 24 minute period for this forum."

I haven't posted anything today. Pressed the quote button in a thread in travel tech.

I just got the same thing. I posted once in the forum (DL) more than two hours ago (IIRC my only post today) and one on June 20.

In fact, when I tried to start a thread here on this, I got a similar message: Maximum number of threads (0) allowed in a 24 minute period."

ADDED: Just now I was able to go back to the DL forum and make my post.

eponymous_coward Jun 29, 2011 11:47 am

Same here.

HIDDY Jun 29, 2011 11:48 am

Same thing happened to me.

SanDiego1K Jun 29, 2011 11:55 am

I have advised IB of the problem.

David, you should be happy that you are at least still allowed to start a thread to report this "24 episode."

I was hit by this about 40 minutes ago and the system didn't even allow me to post nor start any thread on FT. I had to PM Carol to get attention.

ETA: Now it seems I can add my reply since this post went through.

Thanks Carol.

I thought that's what I was doing when I posted here. :D

I am also able to post, it was only a problem when I used the quote button. Then I came here and did "create new thread", which seemed to work, so maybe they are playing with some settings under the hood of FT?

OK, I've heated up the phone lines. bconver says IB-Dick has dropped everything else to work on this.

IBobi Jun 29, 2011 12:03 pm

Yup, we're on it.

Yes, we can call this episode 7:47AM - 7:48AM (HST). :D

We're still investigating, but it appears that the episode is over, correct?

I can't seem to reproduce it now. Any idea what caused it?

Nah! My PM to Carol was successfully sent on 7:38 (your time), and I ran into this 24 problems 20 minutes prior to that. You know, I am not that fast typing up in English. :p

I thought FT is going to have its own 24 Franchise by minute because our archived ORP Forum was in plain sight when I kept hitting the 24 episodes. :D

Well, I don't know. You guys have to tell us what you'd done with FT during the last hour so our resident FTer experts can look into them and possibly debug, if not report, for you. ;)

I only know that I can reply to threads now.

I threw an old caching server back into the mix to test some things and that may have caused some wonkyness. I'm still looking though.

If it helps, the UA/CO forums were split back into separate forums for a while and the pre-merger forum disappeared. I was trying to follow up on a post from yesterday and it was in neither forum.

Wondering how the OP could start this thread if he/she couldn't post?? I tried to start a similar thread and got the error message.

In any case - all now seems fine for me.

Glad this has been resolved,

Was wonder what I did wrong because my first indication of a problem was

I have special powers. I can win contests with only 250 posts too.

I think when you were successfully starting the thread, I was trying to figure out from other threads in this forum who I could contact by PM about the problem. At that point, I noticed this thread first and by then was able to post in it.
