I understand the logic of having the sticky threads at the top of page 1.

What is the logic of having them on the top of every page? Those milliseconds that I spend scanning duplicate thread titles are adding up!

That is an excellent question - and I'm not just saying that :)

We are going to look into this and consider if there are any legitimate reasons to keep it the way it is currently.

just thought I'd bump this up and ask if you have decided to do it and haven't gotten to it yet, or if you have decided not to fix it.
