Unable to Access Chat (Error Message)

Hello,

I tried to access FlyerTalk Live last night and was unable to do so, receiving an error message that read "Unable to connect to DigiChat server. Please contact your site administrator."

I tried again just now as a test, and I received the same message.

I am using Google Chrome on a Windows 7 machine and have not had this problem before. I also attempted to log in using Internet Explorer and was unsuccessful.

Thanks!

Yeah me and YEGcited had the same issue last night and I cant get in again now :(.

I got the same message as zcat and I was using Firefox 3.5.6.

Could IB perhaps come and give us some feedback about this issue please?

I hope this issue doesnt turn into the 2 month exile I experienced in November 2009 :td:

Oh no! I hope not, or else we'll have no idea what to do with ourselves. I'm already suffering from withdrawal tremors... :p

Just kidding, but it would be nice to have chat up and running again.

I thought I knew what the problem was. ;) :p :D

I'm letting tech know. Thanks for reporting.

Ha--Mr. Mac and I do not get along, dhammer53. Plus, Windows7 was my idea. ;)

Same error; Google Chrome and IE 8 both upgraded with the latest Java release, cache cleared etc..

I'm already having flyertalk withdrawl symptoms and I'm a newbie

I'm hosting a temporary FT chat right now on tinychat's server.

www.tinychat.com/flyertalk

It's a completely safe/secure chat server that we can use until this is resolved. I'm going to go ahead and start a thread in Omni to announce this. Feel free to join!

Ah, too bad I missed it tonight (one of my best friends is moving to HNL and had his going-away party this evening), but I'm glad that everybody was able to get on board! Continue to enjoy this until FT Chat comes back online. :) ^

Any ETA for fixing FT chat?

Tech is investigating the issue regarding chat. They think they have narrowed down the problem and are looking for a solution.

We appreciate your patience and we'll keep you posted.

Thanks!

SkiAdcock Aug 5, 2010 9:51 pm

It's 11:50pm EDT 8/5 & I just tried logging in. Same problem. Shouldn't tech have sorted this out by now? I'm just sayin...

Cheers.

cblaisd Aug 5, 2010 10:13 pm

Well, yes they should have. Especially for a company whose "business model is producing superior results."

Sadly, it may be time for an update

Curious to see if Tech figured out the issue......... It's been a long time now.

FlyinHawaiian Aug 9, 2010 7:52 am

Pretty sad that a production issue takes this long to get resolved, isn't it?

El_Chiflero Aug 9, 2010 9:25 pm

I want chat....I wanted to make my return tonite...blasted chat...

Downunder girl Aug 9, 2010 10:19 pm

Well maybe I am jaded, but I am NOT one bit surprised that it has NOT been fixed. Clearly its a low priority :td:.

If it seriously takes this long to fix, then maybe its TIME for new CHAT PLATFORM!

IBsteph Aug 10, 2010 11:24 am

Sorry everyone- this is still in tech's queue but I have no update for you.

We appreciate your patience in the matter.

scoow Aug 11, 2010 9:18 pm

Is chat working? I was able to log in this evening, but no one else is there. Has everyone "given up" / awaiting word that it's fixed? Or was it just a fluke that I got in? Or am I not really there?

FortFun Aug 11, 2010 10:17 pm

It does appear to be working! :)

A couple of us in there now...

IBsteph Aug 12, 2010 7:08 pm

Looks like chat is back up again, as it worked for Dick and I.

Let us know if issues continue...
