I have not seen this posted elsewhere, so I thought I'd share it. Hopefully this can be resolved and the strike action cancelled.

Yikes... that is concerning. We just bought one way tickets between Spain and Lisbon for 4/10 and the 24hr cancellation period ended last night...

I'm growing increasingly frustrated with the constant threat of strikes throughout Europe (trains, planes, transit systems, etc). It's just getting ridiculous...

Regards

It's the hidden agenda to fight overtourism . We are heading for a crazy summer in Europe, offer will not meet demand, quality will tumble and prices will skyrocket. Wish to be in Australia (or even better South America).

I actually think there is a fair chance that the Portuguese government backs down and this strike action is cancelled. The government is actively looking for bidders to take over the airline, this is probably the last thing they want to see on the news over Easter. Time will tell.

I sure hope you are right. We are going to be in a real bind if this thing goes through. Ryanair is the only other carrier for our route and they don't fly the route everyday. We are potentially looking at a very long bus ride followed by a very long train ride (assuming we can even get on those) if this strike occurs.

Regards

Confirming this, it seems the Ministry of Finance has already given the go-ahead, making way for the cancellation of the strike: https://www.jornaldenegocios.pt/empr...pilotos-da-tap

Hoping thats the case. I'll be in Madeira during that window and I'll assuming if TAP shuts down getting off the island will be tough, there did not seem to be many non-TAP flights. I'm not sure what the rebooking options would be since I was ticketed Air Canada. It would be my first time visiting Madeira and it seems like it may not be a bad place to be stuck a few extra days!

Similarly to you I'm booked to fly TAP back from Tenerife on the 8th of April. Won't really mind a few extra days, however, I'm connecting to a different ticket in LIS (both flights operated by TAP, but the second is part of a LX ticket) so I am a little worried about loosing the onwards travel (four more legs) should my flight to LIS be cancelled or delayed, but the flight to ZRH operating normally. I guess it is a good thing both flights are operated by TP, but I suppose we will see!

Does anyone the different scope of responsibilities between SINSEF vs. SCISEF? (the latter striking over the actual easter holiday weekend). Trying to get a sense of realistic airport impacts. SINSEF seems like actual immigration agents but not sure about SCISEF?
